Hi my name is Jayda Wheat and I am one of the Cofounders of The Safe Barn and President/Executive Director of The Safe Barn. I, along with my friend, started this nonprofit because I believed that animals deserved to be treated fairly and given a safe haven to be able to live their lives out. My local animal shelters were great however they have to euthanized many animals when the shelter becomes to full. While saving one animal is good, saving many animals is better. I love animals dearly and if I could stand them being in pain I would have become a Veterinarian.
I am currently a college undergraduate student studying Biology and Public Health. I am 21 years old and have lived in Dallas, Texas all my life. I feel that it was finally time for me to give back to my community the same way they helped me. My hobbies are history, arts and crafts, and video games.
Destiny
Destiny is a dedicated co-founder of an animal welfare nonprofit, driven by her passion for helping animals in need. At just 20 years old, this inspiring young Black woman has been a devoted cat owner, adopting her furry companions from local shelters. Destiny combines her love for animals with her creative pursuits, often expressing herself through artwork and engaging in video gaming during her leisure time. Her commitment to animal advocacy and her innovative spirit are shaping a brighter future for countless animals in her community.
